Tailored dogwear for houndies that don’t fit standard sizing
Made to order in Melbourne
Meet the maker
Hi, I’m Alice I’m the human behind the sewing machine - founder, maker, and designer for Duo Dogwear. I’ve been sewing since my foot could just about reach the pedal (thanks Dad!).
Before moving to Melbourne, I completed a business degree and discovered a love for marketing. But it was in my spare time -between my full‑time job, coffee breaks, and late nights - that Duo Dogwear came to life.
Every jumper is hand‑cut, hand‑sewn, and custom‑made to suit your dog’s size, shape, and style. I’ll work closely with you from your first enquiry to the final stitch - keeping you in the loop at every step so the end result is exactly as you imagined.
This is more than sewing, it’s about solving sizing struggles, celebrating individuality, and making sure every dog feels comfy, warm, and just a little bit fabulous.
Meet the duo
Introducing the four‑legged founders of Duo Dogwear – Summer & Arnold.
These two quirky pups are the reason Duo Dogwear exists. When nothing in the shops fit them properly - or looked good enough for their fabulous personalities - their human, took matters into her own hands. They inspired perfectly fitted, stylish jumpers… and the rest is history.
Summer
Soul‑stare champion - one look and you’re under her spell
Rescued racer turned snuggle pro
Overcame her early fears and now loves everyone she meets
Queen of sass - and she knows it
Arnold
Pocket rocket - full of unstoppable energy
Fetch master - will chase a ball happily for hours
Demands to be tucked in every single night (blanket and all)
Certified goofball - guaranteed to make you laugh daily
Together, they’re the OG models, quality‑control supervisors, and daily inspiration for everything we make at Duo Dogwear.
Every stitch and seam is tested and approved by this dynamic duo - so you know it’s pup‑perfect.
The personalised process
Every jumper is made with care, precision, and a whole lot of love.
Here’s how it works:
1. Tell me about your dog
Fill out our easy online order form, detailing your colour preferences, design ideas, and - most importantly - your dog’s measurements. This ensures the perfect starting point.
2. Personalised Communication
Once I receive your form, I’ll be in touch via email to go over the details. This is our chance to chat through your preferences, answer any questions, and make sure we’re on the same page for the perfect fit.
3. Materials & Confirmation
I’ll confirm your chosen materials and check availability. Once everything is agreed upon, you’ll receive a confirmation along with a payment request.
4. Crafting Your Jumper
After payment is received, I begin handcrafting your dog’s bespoke jumper. Each piece is individually cut, sewn, and finished by hand. This stage usually takes 7–10 days - because quality takes time.
5. Ready for Pick-Up or Delivery
When your jumper is complete, I’ll let you know right away! You can either pick it up in person or have it delivered straight to your door - ready for your dog to strut their stuff.
Every Duo Dogwear jumper is handcrafted and custom-made for your dog's unique measurements and style.

How to measure your dog:
Tips for the Perfect Fit
-
A flexible fabric measuring tape, or alternatively:
Your dog’s leash or lead (ideal substitute!)
Something to mark or hold the length on the lead (like a finger)
Pen and paper or your phone to record measurements
Some tasty treats to keep your pup happy and cooperative
-
Don’t have a flexible sewing tape measure? No worries! Use your dog’s lead instead:
Wrap the lead around the area you want to measure - waist, chest, neck, or wrists.
Hold your finger at the point where the lead overlaps.
Lay the lead flat and measure the distance between the start and your finger with a ruler or a regular measuring tape.
-
For the best results, have your dog stand still on all fours. If your dog wags or moves, measure again for accuracy.
-
Chest length (side on to your dog - from the wither to base of chest, in cm)
Chest Girth (widest part just behind front legs, in cm)
Waist Girth (narrowest part behind the ribs, in cm)
Back Length (base of neck to base of tail, in cm)
Neck Girth (circumference at base of neck, in cm)
Neck Girth (circumference behind the ears, in cm)
Elbow to Wrist Length (front leg, from elbow to wrist, in cm)
Wrist Girth (circumference around the wrist, in cm)
-
Add about 1 to 2 cm (or about half an inch) for comfort so the jumper isn’t too tight and your dog can move freely.
-
Keep the experience positive! Give treats and praise to help your dog stay calm. Measuring after a walk or playtime when your dog is relaxed can make the process easier.
